The supercar Honda NSX will have a pure gasoline and electronic versions

The second-generation Honda / Acura NSX coupe was born long and dreary. The first official statement on the development of the machine was made in another two thousand seven years. At first, the car thought with a V10 engine, but in 2010 a racing prototype with a V8 was built, and two years later, the concept saw a V6 engine located in the base and three electric motors. Serial production of hybrids at a plant in the United States was launched exclusively in May of this year.

The maximum total power of the power plant is five hundred eighty-one hp. Such a return allows a two-seater with a length of four thousand four hundred seventy mm and a curb weight of one thousand seven hundred eleven kg to accelerate to “hundreds” in about 2, nine seconds and gain a maximum of three hundred and seven km / h. In America, Acura NSX is offered for one hundred fifty six thousand dollars, and European dealers accept orders for the same cars under the Honda brand name, prices – from one hundred eighty to two hundred thousand dollars, depending on the country.

The most anticipated version is pure gasoline, without electric motors and a traction battery. Removing these elements will significantly reduce the weight of the machine, and the V6 3.5 biturbomotor even in its standard form with a capacity of five hundred and seven hp able to provide good dynamics. Most likely, such a modification will receive the designation Type R and will become the most extreme in the family.

The second direction of development is a purely electric supercar, and the Japanese have already built such a prototype with four electric motors (one per wheel) for the Pikes Peak race. A sophisticated control system individually changes the load on each engine depending on the trajectory of movement, acceleration and actions of the pilot, thereby realizing a variable thrust vector on all four wheels. There is still a lot of work on the road to mass production of the electric version, but Honda is enthusiastic.
